Approving the 7th Research framework programme is finally giving European research the possibility to compete seriously with the USA, Japan, China and India. The budget of 54 million Euros will be spent over the period 2007-13, in the most significant research sectors such as energy, transport, environment and health.
Thanks to ALDE amendments the new funding envisages a large contribution for small and medium-sized undertakings and revises the procedure which should make it easier for them to undertake projects.
